Cinematography: blog analysis tasks

  1)The opening of stranger things uses very dark lighting and lots of shadows to make the scene feel very tense.There are close up shots of the scientists face to show he is scared and wide shots of the empty hallways to show how alone he is.Some high angle shots make him feel small and the camera follows him as he runs through the building.When things get more dangerous,the camera gets a bit more shaky and that makes the movement feel rushed and stressed 2)The dark hallways and strange lab equipment tells us the setting is a secret and might be an dangerous place.The fast camera movemets and quick cuts hint something is chasing the scientist and giving us clues about the narrative.The close ups on his face show he is nervous and not in control and the high angle shots make him feel worried 3)The image is a long shot from a eye sight angle.The long shot shows the whole space and makes the hallway look empty and tense.The eye level angle keeps the scene realistic but ...

Sound video feedback and learner response

 Feedback from my teacher WWW: Good concept fufils brief well Very good images Well edited EBI: Smoother editing Feedback from my classmates: I had a good use of images and there were a variety of imgaes and the difference between the images was quite clear and that allowed me to follow the breif completely and the sound also matched the breif as it being one sound through.However an ebi that alot of my classmates gave me was that i need smoother editing and the ending of my video was quite abrupt. What Went Well (WWW): My video successfully demonstrated the difference between parallel and contrapuntal sound. The examples I chose clearly showed how music can either match the action on screen (parallel) or contrast with it (contrapuntal) to create tension, irony, or humor. The editing was timed well with the audio, so the audience could easily see and hear the effect of each technique. I think the video made the concepts clear and easy to understand.
